Clinical Nurse Consultant, Wound & Stomal Therapy
Fabia Fiveash is a respected Clinical Nurse Consultant specialising in wound management and stomal therapy, with over two decades of experience across hospital, community, and aged care settings. She delivers expert assessment, personalised management plans, and education in the care of complex wounds and stomas, focusing on evidence-based, person-centred care.
Fabia’s clinical expertise includes:
- Complex and hard-to-heal wounds
- Pressure injury prevention and management
- Spinal Cord injury wound support service
- Diabetic and venous leg ulcers
- Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
- Lymphoedema-related wounds
- Conservative sharp and ultrasonic wound debridement
- Pre- and post-operative stomal therapy, including stoma site marking, patient education, and ongoing care
Fabia holds a Bachelor of Nursing and has completed postgraduate qualifications in both Wound Care and Stomal Therapy, equipping her with advanced clinical knowledge and specialist skills to manage a wide range of complex conditions.
Fabia is an active member of Wounds Australia, the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN)and the Hunter Wound Interest Group, ensuring her practice remains informed by the latest clinical guidelines and international research.
In addition to her consultancy work, Fabia is a dedicated educator and mentor, committed to raising the standard of wound and stoma care through the training and development of healthcare professionals across diverse care environments.
